When Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue stepped out on his own in 2007 with Please Come Home, it caught a lot of post-hardcore fans completely off guard. Instead of the soaring, heavy alt-rock textures of Vheissu, Kensrue stripped everything down to the wood and wire, delivering a raw, weathered Americana and folk record that sounds like it was tracked live in an old living room.
