More Info:
Knuckles is an adrenaline-fueled hybrid of punchy cinematic action, 1990s video game swagger, and over-the-top comedic rock. Howe builds the sonic identity around the Echidna warrior's larger-than-life bravado, combining full orchestral brass fanfares and driving string arrangements with crunchy electric guitar riffs, pounding drum kits, and retro synth flourishes. Cues like "Knuckles," "The Joust," and "Bowling Battle" capture a playful, Saturday-morning-cartoon intensity that matches the show’s buddy-cop dynamic, balancing heroic, earth-shaking tribal percussion with buoyant, lighthearted adventure melodies. The vinyl release is further elevated by standout original comedic tracks produced alongside Asa Taccone and Matthew Compton, including the self-aware rock opera spectacle "Flames of Disaster" featuring Julian Barratt and Michael Bolton. The result sounds vibrant, punchy, and delightfully theatrical, functioning as a high-energy mix of modern blockbuster scoring and tongue-in-cheek hard rock pastiche.
