More Info:
Steve Jablonsky’s score for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is a masterclass in modern, adrenaline-fueled hybrid orchestral action. Taking over scoring duties from Brian Tyler and bringing the bombastic pedigree of his iconic Transformers collaboration with producer Michael Bay, Jablonsky injected the franchise with kinetic swagger, relentless forward momentum, and unashamed Saturday-morning fun. The sonic architecture seamlessly bridges Remote Control Productions-style widescreen electronic synthesis with massive symphonic power: thunderous Taiko percussion, punchy brass swells, and distorted industrial bass synths collide across high-velocity action sequences like "Foot Clan Chase," "Technodrome Assembles," and "Shredder Escape." What elevates the score beyond generic modern franchise noise is Jablonsky’s thematic playfulness and character-driven motifs, effortlessly weaving offbeat rock grooves for Bebop and Rocksteady, sci-fi modular synth dread for Krang, and triumphant, goosebump-inducing brass fanfares that pay direct homage to the classic 1987 cartoon theme in tracks like "Turtle Power" and "Half Shell." Cut across four sides of vinyl with dynamic low-end punch and wide stereo imaging, the release lets the heavy percussion hits rattle the room while preserving the sparkling high-end detail of the string ostinatos, standing as one of the most entertaining, energetic superhero action scores of the 2010s.
