More Info:
Spineshank’s Self-Destructive Pattern represents the absolute peak of the Los Angeles quartet’s razor-honed industrial nu-metal machinery. Produced by GGGarth Richardson, the album strips away the genre’s lingering rap-rock tropes in favor of relentless mechanical velocity, crushing drop-tuned groove riffs, and abrasive electronics handled by programmer Tommy Decker. Musically, it’s a high-voltage assault driven by Mike Sarkisyan’s tight, chugging guitar hooks and driving double-kick percussion, heavily bolstered by cold synthesizer sweeps, distorted loops, and cybernetic rhythmic hits reminiscent of Demanufacture-era Fear Factory meets Nine Inch Nails. Frontman Jonny Santos delivers a searing performance, snapping violently between throat-shredding, cathartic screams on aggressive pit-starters like "Violent Mood Swings" and massive, melodic arena-ready choruses on standout tracks like "Smothered" and "Slavery." The resulting sound is hyper focused, furious, and polished with early-2000s industrial precision. A punishing yet anthemic snapshot of metal at the dawn of the millennium.
