More Info:
Powerman 5000’s Mega!! Kung Fu Radio captures the band before their sci-fi industrial-metal breakthrough Tonight the Stars Revolt!. Instead of glossy electronic pulses, this record is a raw, hyperactive collision of mid-’90s funk-metal, aggressive rap-rock, and heavy alternative skate-punk.   Sonically, it draws heavy inspiration from the slap-bass bounce of Primus, the gritty hip-hop cadence of Cypress Hill, and the blistering skate-thrash crossover of Suicidal Tendencies. Anchored by Dorian 27’s elastic, popping basslines and the twin-guitar crunch of Adam 12 and M.33, the record barrels forward with gritty riffing, record-scratch accents, and B-movie vocal samples. Frontman Spider One (younger brother of Rob Zombie) commands the mix with a fast-talking, snotty, rap-shouted delivery that bounces between manic pop-culture non sequiturs on tracks like "Organizized" and "Tokyo Vigilante #1" to infectious, bluesy alternative grooves on "20 Miles to Texas 25 to Hell". It’s an energetic, sweaty, bass-driven blast of late-’90s alternative attitude, bristling with youth and punchy, comic-book chaos.
