More Info:
Early Day Miners’ debut full-length, Placer Found, is an understated, monumental cornerstone of Midwestern slowcore and rural ambient post-rock. Conceived by songwriter and producer Daniel Burton (formerly of the math-rock outfit Ativin) in a converted rural farmhouse outside Bloomington, Indiana, the album trades visceral volume for glacial restraint, vast negative space, and deep regional resonance. Sonically, it maps out a desolate, beautiful middle-American landscape that draws spiritual kinship with the muted discipline of Bedhead and Low, the drifting twilight gloom of Labradford, and the sparse, melodic drone of Talk Talk's final records.
